As a member of the Direct Air Capture hardware team, you will be an active contributor to the design and development of GE Vernova's first Direct Air Capture product, working to create a sustainable future.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of hardware components for direct air capture systems.
  • Create, modify, and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Siemens NX.
  • Own component and subsystem product definition, including fit, form, function, interfaces, and design documentation.
  • Perform engineering analyses to support design decisions, including structural, thermal, tolerance, and manufacturability assessments.
  • Translate system and product requirements into component-level designs and technical specifications.
  • Drive design reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including systems, manufacturing, test, sourcing, and quality to ensure successful design execution.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, failure analysis, and design iteration.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, safety, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  • Establish and maintain engineering best practices, CAD standards, and configuration control processes.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the hardware team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in hardware, mechanical, or product design engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience with Siemens NX for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation.
  • 2 years of experience performing engineering analyses to evaluate and improve design performance.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in direct air capture, carbon capture, climate tech, energy systems, or related industrial equipment.
  • Experience performing engineering analyses to evaluate and improve design performance.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, GD&T, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with prototype development, test methods, and design validation.
  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for reliability.
  • Knowledge of thermal-fluid systems, process equipment, or pressure-containing hardware.
  • Experience in regulated, safety-critical, or highly technical product development environments.
  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM tools and engineering change processes.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
