DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Buyer II and make a meaningful impact on global science and healthcare. You'll contribute to ensuring the seamless supply of materials that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working in a procurement environment, you'll manage supplier relationships, drive cost optimization, and ensure timely delivery of critical materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels. You'll work with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree + 2 years experience or in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of relevant procurement/buying experience in a manufacturing environment experience will be considered
• Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering or related field
• APICS, CPIM, CSCP or CIPS certification preferred
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Experience with MRP, inventory management and supplier relationship management
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with ability to achieve cost savings
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a professional environment
• Knowledge of FDA/ISO regulations and quality systems preferred
• Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
• Ability to travel occasionally to supplier sites as needed
• Multi-lingual skills valued but not required
