Job Description Summary:

The Radiology Tech Aide is integral to the overall patient and guest experience. The Radiology Tech Aide duties include but are not limited to the following: provide support to clinicians in the preparation, performance and post procedural work of providing patient care. Ensuring rooms are appropriately stocked and cleaned pre and post procedure, setting up supplies for procedures, ensuring adequate supply volume, monitoring telemetry, transporting patients, greeting patients and assisting patients during the exiting process.

INFORMATION SECURITY
Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only.
Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information Security Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist Technologists in performance of procedures.

Greeting/Exiting Patients: In alignment with OhioHealth values:

Exhibits excellent communication to both clinicians and patients by: greeting patients, providing appropriate explanation within appropriate scope and elevates patient questions/concerns where appropriate. 

Provides effective hand-off to clinicians.

Supports patient care and throughput by providing: directional assistance and patient transportation as needed either by wheelchair or cart.  

Department/Room Preparation: Routinely assesses par level of supplies and stocks departments(s) to ensure adequate supply level in the department(s) at all times. Supports department cleanliness by ensuring linens are available and ensures each room is appropriately cleaned and prepared for patient care. 

Clinical Support: Provides telemetry support as needed. Routinely assesses patient need to ensure all patient needs/status changes are communicated in a professional and timely manner to the clinician in charge and/or clinician with which they are working.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.



OSHA BLOOD BORNE PATHOGEN EMPLOYEE EXPOSURE CATEGORIES:
CATEGORY I:  Employees whose job functions involve routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.  (Direct patient care jobs)

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
