About the role

  • Support the delivery of affordable, accessible accommodation for patients and families travelling to St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, ensuring those receiving care or supporting a loved one—are provided with safe, comfortable, and conveniently located housing options close to the hospital campus.

  • Manage all accommodation bookings and daily operations, including electronic bookings, daily occupancy and pending lists, allocation of 52 beds across 11 residences, and handling enquiries in person and by phone.

  • Oversee financial processes, including responsible handling of cash and electronic billing, banking, account reconciliation, IPTAAS assistance, and facilitation of reimbursements for patients and payments to SVH.

  • Maintain accurate records and resources, including registers of assets and purchases, appropriate recording of risks, incidents, and feedback, and development and maintenance of local resources for the accommodation service.

  • Support patients, families, carers, and staff through effective communication, appropriate referral to social work, coordination with internal departments, and facilitating alternative accommodation options when required.

  • Ensure the smooth running of accommodation facilities, including purchasing equipment and furniture via organisational procedures and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.

About you

  • Demonstrated ability and experience working as a member of an administration team in a high-demand environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of computerised hospital booking and/or accommodation services, or a willingness to learn.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work sensitively with patients and their carers in times of distress.

  • Experience in handling accounts, finance, and report preparation.

  • Ability to liaise and co-operate with external and internal agencies and health professionals across the St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney community.

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and well-developed skills in time management, liaison, and negotiation.
