Are you a Platform Engineer with expertise in developing and implementing ServiceNow solutions? BCI is seeking an individual like you to join our team for a 15-month fixed term position. THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Platform Engineer, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to facilitate the successful deployment, growth, and enhancement of ServiceNow. Leveraging your expertise, you will drive the creation and implementation of platform maturity roadmaps in a hybrid Agile environment, ensuring the efficient delivery of top-quality products and services.

With a strong foundation in platform configuration and administration, you will offer support and troubleshooting for platform-related issues and may join an on-call rotation to address critical business needs. This position can be based in either Vancouver or Victoria, with occasional travel required between the two cities.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Platform Administrator, Platform Engineer, Developer, or Software Engineer, with a strong focus on implementing, developing, and managing platform configurations and operations

  • Hands-on experience with service management platforms, including in-depth knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM modules, Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and configuration management databases (CMDB); professional certification or training in ITIL, ServiceNow, or a similar field is required

  • Proficiency in configuring both on-premise and cloud-based environments

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Lean, Kanban, or Scrum) and DevOps practices

  • Proven track record of working within a technical team to analyze complex problems, identify issues, and collaboratively deliver effective and efficient solutions

  • Solid understanding of one or more common programming languages (e.g., CSOM, JavaScript, jQuery, C#, PowerShell, XML/XSLT, Python, R, etc.) and related technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Internet Information Server, Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, etc.)

  • Exceptional customer service, listening, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Prior experience in the investment management industry is considered an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads technical delivery and ongoing enhancement of the ServiceNow platform within an Agile delivery team, following a regular sprint cadence

  • Drives technical requirements for assigned platform capabilities and supporting technologies, serving as the technical subject matter expert (SME)

  • Creates platform maturity roadmaps, aligning with business objectives and technical needs, while identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and optimization

  • Designs, configures, and maintains platform capabilities, services, and environments in accordance with platform maturity roadmaps and best practices

  • Manages project delivery and develops technical documentation, ensuring compliance with internal technology governance standards

  • Establishes and enforces platform standards and guidelines based on industry best practices, communicates expectations to technical teams, and ensures adherence to established protocols

  • Participates in procurement processes, including developing and evaluating Requests for Proposals, and oversees the performance of external resources

  • Proactively detects risks and issues, offers solutions to overcome barriers, and delivers advanced levels of platform administration, troubleshooting, and remediation support

  • Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Encourages knowledge sharing through internal technical communities and resources, promoting a collaborative, team-based culture

  • Applies Agile methodologies and drives continuous improvement in delivery performance through reporting, backlog development, sprint planning, and retrospectives

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • Work from either of our downtown Victoria or Vancouver offices: relocation support is available if needed

SALARY RANGE

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

The annualized base salary range for this role is CAD $120,000 to $140,000.

The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.
