Position: Project Manager/Senior Project Manager

Reporting to: Associate Vice President, Strategic Operations

Location: Bentonville, AR (On-site)

Construction of the Institute’s permanent 75,000-square-foot facility is underway with the goal of opening in early 2025. The Institute will be located on the campus of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art near Alice L. Walton School of Medicine in Bentonville, Arkansas.

About The Position

HWHI is seeking an experienced Project Manager (or Senior Project Manager) to play a key role in the development and execution of a wide range of organizational project plans and initiatives. This position will manage project teams and operational activities across the organization, and with partner entities.

You’ll join a team working on founder Alice Walton’s health care transformation initiatives and will report to the Associate Vice President, Strategic Operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Planning: Create project plans and schedules with functional team lead and members to create a structure for the completion of the project.
    • Create and oversee project budgets, commitments, and timelines.
  • Execution: Coordinate with teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure on- schedule and in-budget deliverables and project completion.
    • Gather and monitor milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resources to keep projects on track, adjusting project plans as needed to ensure they meet the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and track to budgets.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a bridge between all involved parties, ensuring smooth communication between the working team, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Produce and distribute reports, utilizing a variety of reporting tools, to track project status.
  • Assessment: Assess performance metrics throughout and at the conclusion of the project to evaluate success and to improve future projects.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years in a project management role, Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and decision-making skills.
  • Natural problem solver, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment where change is a constant.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master of Business Administration (MBA) or similar degree preferred.
  • Experience with Asana, Salesforce, Workday, or other project management technology platforms.

Physical demands: In the work environment described, position requires sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer and a telephone for prolonged periods of time and good eye/hand coordination, bending and stretching for filing, and physical stamina to lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Visual acuity to review written materials is required for this job. Additionally, this position requires meeting the public and the organization in a professional and courteous manner.

Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment. The physical arrangement of the office may require the position to work in an open environment within close proximity to other colleagues. Work will be performed in an office environment full- time (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Occasional evening and weekend work hours, and some local travel will be required.
