POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supplements help in leading, instructing and training ticket sellers in proper selling procedures at the Oval
  • Operates and oversees all ticketing and reporting sales for Worcester Common Oval Skating Rink
  • Cash Handling to and from the DCU Center
  • Opens and closes ticket window as required
  • Accurately dispenses tickets/skates as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately as needed
  • Keeps accurate daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets/skate rentals sold
  • Balances sales and change bank and submits cash to Box Office Manager for audit
  • End of Night reporting
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Responds promptly to customer needs
  • Responds to requests for service and assistance
  • Will be working with Skate Sanitation
  • Works independently and handles most box office questions without assistance
  • Communicate with Operations and Security
  • Any other duties assigned by Assistant Box Office Manager and Box Office Manager
  • May be called to work as Supervisor to main event facility

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises ticket sellers and skate rental employees at the Worcester Common Oval Skating Rink.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Box office or guest services background preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices;  ability to coordinate staff
  • Ability to count money and make change accurately
  • Ability to input data into a computer to record sales transactions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret written information
  • Strong problem solving skills and organizational ability
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Good customer service skills and sense of public relations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires long periods of standing and substantial walking to and from the DCU Center. Candidate must be able to work outside with various temperatures in the Winter.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
