The Grid/HPC (High Performance Computing) platform tech analyst will work as a key member of the Grid Services team. This person will work closely with business and developments teams to optimize highly parallel workloads onto Grid platform, leveraging modern and innovative technologies in order to deliver the optimal performance in the most cost-effective manner. A strong understanding Grid computing infrastructure (IBM Spectrum Symphony/LSF) parallel computing. Previous experience with compute scavenging/harvesting for on-off-prem is highly desired. The candidate should be able to employ a methodical approach towards evaluating new and emerging technologies that will have a direct and measurable impact to one or more business units within Citi. In addition to excellent communication skills, this candidate should have the ability to work effectively on individual tasks and work well within a team dynamic. Reporting to the GRID Operations Manager, this individual will be responsible for the support of IBM Platform Symphony. Senior member of the CTI Grid Operations team in maintaining a central grid compute utility for multiple company businesses. The candidate will provide technical support to various application teams to on-board new computational/quantitative applications onto the Grid Infrastructure.

Required Skill Sets:

  • Strong background on Linux systems administration skills in standalone (bare metal), cloud or virtualized environment.

  • Has experience with Bash, Python, or Perl and ability to create and utilize scripts to complete tasks on large groups of servers

  • Strong background on IBM Spectrum Symphony and Spectrum Scale (GPFS)

  • Knowledge and experience with Chef cookbooks and Ansible playbooks and how they integrate into CI/CD pipeline, provisioning and configuration tasks as DevOps tools to support automation of manual tasks

  • Familiarity with storage technologies and their integration with shared clustered environments (SAN, NAS, NetApp, NFS, GPFS)

  • Working knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud architectures and the capabilities and challenges involved with their implementation in cloud environments.

  • Production operation experience of container technology such as Kubernetes and/or Openshift.

  • Production level knowledge of public cloud provider such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Experience with Performance metric monitoring/reporting/dashboard tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc)

Desired Skill Sets:

  • Familiar with Global Security Framework (GSF) or Cyber Security Framework (CSF) as well as all their components and registration processes.

  • Experience with data center operations and Linux OS build processes.

  • Working knowledge related to auditing and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 7-year experience is recommended, but not required if candidates prove strong.

  • Defined as “Linux SME / L3 Admin”.

  • Large Scale (thousand nodes) High Performance Computing (HPC) Experience and Expertise

  • IBM Spectrum Symphony Cluster Admin level Experience and Skills

  • IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) Cluster Admin level Experience and Skills, especially with File Placement Optimizer (FPO) and Cluster NFS (CNFS) features.

  • Public Cloud production operation experience on AWS and/or GCP

  • Container Technology production support experience on Kubernetes and/or Openshift

  • DevOps experience with Configuration Management tools on Ansible and Chef.

  • Familiar with CI/CD pipeline

  • Focused on configuration governance on a wide scale environment

  • Analytical and disciplined approach to problem solving

  • Ability to remain calm and objective in a high-pressure

  • Excellent communication and customer care skills

  • Strong team-player and collaborator

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$125,760.00 - $188,640.00
