Position Purpose:

We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern or Co-op student to support a detailed time and motion study aimed at improving operational efficiency. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to define study objectives, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and design data collection methods. This hands-on role combines observation, camera technology, and other innovative techniques to gather data, analyze processes, and identify opportunities for performance enhancements.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to set clear test objectives and define KPIs for the time and motion study.

· Design and implement methods for collecting time and motion data using observation, video recording, and other appropriate technologies.

· Conduct on-site observations to document workflow, motions, and process steps accurately.

· Analyze collected data to identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies.

· Develop baseline metrics to quantify current process performance.

· Identify and propose potential improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and optimize resource use.

· Prepare a comprehensive written report summarizing findings, baseline observations, and recommendations for process improvements.

· Present study results and quantified potential gains to leadership and executives in a clear, professional manner.

Location:

· Work location is located in the Windy Hill Corporate Office and Marietta/Kennesaw area.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:

· Currently enrolled as a Senior or recently graduated with a degree in an Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related program.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to design experiments and define measurable goals (KPIs).

· Comfortable working with observation techniques and camera technology.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to create professional reports and presentations.

· Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage tasks and propose innovative solutions.

· Familiarity with time and motion study principles is a plus.

Learning Outcomes:

· Practical experience conducting time and motion studies.

· Hands-on use of data gathering technologies and analysis tools.

· Skills in defining objectives, goal-setting, and KPI development.

· Experience presenting technical information to senior leadership.

· Exposure to continuous improvement and process optimization methodologies
