Job Description:

The IT Support Engineer will join a cross-functional team that supports the operations of all Meow Wolf Inc. IT & Infrastructure. As a help desk specialist, primary responsibilities include troubleshooting issues with computer hardware, peripherals, and software, as well as providing general IT assistance. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an operations team successfully managing/maintaining multiple IT systems. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a high level of focus and follow-through. Provide technical support to clients by researching and answering technical questions, troubleshooting issues, maintaining workstation and LAN performance, while maximizing computer system capabilities by studying customer’s application. Additionally, the position will be responsible for making additional recommendations to the Manager of Support Operations, as leads arise, and all tickets worked will be reported in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain macOS and Windows, laptops/desktops, printers, and other peripherals.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on macOS and Windows, printers, and other hardware. 

  • Install service releases and perform routine maintenance on desktop applications.

  • Implement virus protection, detection, and elimination.

  • Provide basic training on hardware and software use.

  • Facilitate assistance from hardware and software vendors when necessary.

  • Devise documentation for all end-user hardware and software with regard to installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, licensing, configuration, and network connectivity.

  • Assist in AV setup for Meow Wolf internal events.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of professional IT experience with a minimum of Level 2 proficiency.

  • Must be able to critically think beyond break/fix, communicate well, and work in a team-based environment.

  • A self-starter with the ability to apply their technical knowledge in order to troubleshoot, resolve, and recommend IT solutions.

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Proficiency with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365.

  • Proficiency with all Windows/ OSX Operating systems.

  • Proficiency with Office suites.

  • General hardware knowledge.

  • PC Proficiency.

  • System Administration and software testing experience

  • Proficiency with LAN/WAN - Switches, routers, firewalls (Cisco/ Sonicwall/ Fortinet experience a plus).

  • Experience with backup solutions, managed antivirus, software testing, and technical documentation.

  • Help Desk experience preferred

  • Current CompTIA A+ certification is preferred but not required. 

  • Current CompTIA Network+ certification is preferred but not required. 

  • Basic understanding of the OSI Model.

  • Listen and communicate with compassion and positivity.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and a receptiveness to change.

  • Willing to work outside the comfort zone to assist guests or fellow team members.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. 

Work Environment:

This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces. This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may  include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position that works a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. 

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

Travel:

Travel is not required for this position as needed.
