Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Contracts & Pricing organization is seeking a highly qualified and capable leader GBMR Division Director Contracts and Government Property 2 to influence and enable the strategic direction to lead the contracts and government property organizations in the Global Battle Management & Readiness Division (GBMR) Division.  The candidate selected will be a direct report to the Defensive Systems Sector’s Vice President of Contracts & Pricing and will support the Global Battle Management & Readiness Division Vice President and General Manager. 

Located in Linthicum, MD, Huntsville, AL, or McLean, VA, this position will have accountability for the GBMR Contracts organization as well as the GBMR Property Administration organization.  The GBMR Division has a varied portfolio of contract types with programs spanning the full acquisition life cycle, and includes contracts directly with the United States Government, prime contractors, Foreign Military Sales, and direct commercial sales. 

This is a high visibility position that requires regular interaction with and briefings to executive management at the Division, Sector, and Corporate levels in addition to regular interaction with GBMR customers.  The successful candidate must be proactive, work independently, act with a sense of urgency, and possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.  Timely communications and quality work in a face-paced environment are expected.  In addition, the successful candidate must be able to lead an engaged, geographically dispersed team and develop highly effective customer relations.  The GBMR Contracts & GP Director is responsible for managing a team that support the Division across multiple GBMR sites, including Huntsville, AL, Mclean, VA, Oklahoma City, OK, Orlando, FL, Sierra Vista, AZ, and other locations.  In addition to managing employee staffing, training, and development, this individual has oversight for all of the GBMR Division contract and property activities to include proposal submittal inclusive of risk review, development of negotiation strategies, contractual administration, and issue resolution in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies and procedures.  This role will demonstrate ownership over business outcomes by leading the team to demonstrate functional knowledge and support, strong financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant professional experience or Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Broad experience in managing contracts throughout the acquisition life cycle and a strong understanding and knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition processes and regulations
  • Experience reviewing and approving contractual documents for protection of the company’s contractual posture and adherence to company policy
  • Ability to lead meetings with government customers or regulatory organizations
  • Experience providing advice to various levels of leadership on topics such as contractual rights, interpretation of terms and conditions, and contractual strategy
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing and leading teams and working cross-functionally with other organizations
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance up to Top Secret. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • International contracts experience
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Knowledge of Government Property regulations
  • Knowledge of Contract Management System (CMS), SAP, and/or Cost Point
  • Experience managing geographically disbursed teams

Salary Range: $198,400.00 - $311,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
