Job Summary

The Lead SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for design, implementation, and Operational support of SAP Business Suite, Netweaver, SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) Cloud and other enterprise applications in SAP ecosystem. Additionally, this role will have key operational responsibility for the SAP landscape including monitoring, transport management, OSS note application and troubleshooting problems.  This role uses subject matter knowledge to help create and maintain standards, guidelines, and procedures. The Lead Basis Administrator is expected to work with the SAP Application and Product Teams, System integration partners, Patterson Infrastructure teams to ensure stable and SAP application landscape to support Patterson business processes and overall growth of the business.

• Responsible for sizing and deployment planning of SAP Technical components that include Business Suite applications, Netweaver, BTP Cloud and HANA technology platform

• Manage and Support SAP Technical Infrastructure components that run on ABAP and/or JAVA in Hybrid landscape

• Application Server Performance Tuning and Technical Monitoring set-up for EWM, SCM, CRM, ECC, PI, BW, Portal and other SAP components

• Lead Batch Scheduling solution deployment and configuration of Job chains to meet the requirements of business process dependencies using Redwood RunmyJobs

• Lead Capacity Planning and Data Volume Management for SAP applications

• Develop procedural documentation for SAP System Builds, system refreshes and build automation where possible

• Responsible for Early Watch/Service Level reports/ SLD/CTS+ in solution manager

• Configure Data Protection for SAP application and database repositories using Enterprise Backup infrastructure

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of System builds/refreshes to support testing needs for release and deployment schedules.

• Research Solution and Product Roadmaps from SAP and Microsoft to learn about new functionality that can offer business value, brings technical stability, and improve user experience

• Build and configure integration of SAP tools with corporate identity management tools and help implement SAML for single sign on between SAP and non-sap applications

• Accountable for support activities that include change and transport migrations, printer management, SAP notes implementation and business user SAP UI issues.

• Collaborate across IT functions including operations teams, support teams and security teams to assist in driving out operational processes and procedures for SAP that will help shape Patterson’s go forward operating plans.  

• Create, review, and maintain daily operational procedures, task schedules, and documentation to ensure a solid SAP operating environment.

• Drive technical resolution and action plan for performance and system level issues impacting business and customers

• Partner with Patterson Chief Information Security Office (CISO) in keeping SAP environments secure and protected from Cyber threats

• Partner with Release Manager in supporting SAP Change management process

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent

• Minimum 8 years of experience in SAP Basis Technologies

• Deep knowledge and working experience in SAP Basis supporting Business Suite, Supply Chain, Netweaver and BTP based applications

• Expert level HANA Database/Platform Experience that includes Data Partitioning, Data Tiering, HSR and Deployment of HANA XSA apps developed in Python/ML

• Solid Implementation and Operational experience of running SAP on Windows and Linux, SQL Server in Virtualized and Cloud Environments

• Knowledge of Azure Cloud and experience in migrating and deploying SAP Workloads in Microsoft Azure using IaaS and PaaS Services

• Hands-on experience with SAP SSO / Azure AD, SAP Web Dispatcher, Azure App Gateway 

• Working experience of External Job Schedulers like Redwood

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP and Azure Cloud Technical Certifications

This is a hybrid position. You must be located in Minnesota.
