We are searching for a Product Manager, Presonus, based in Tokyo. You will be responsible for the planning, leadership, and general supervision of Presonus products. This job entails all product management functions including, but not limited to, market research and analysis, roadmap and product planning, product specification & development, schedule management, product launches, and management of third-party partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain on-going market research and analysis, market segmentation and competitive analysis, in order to identify and communicate opportunities and trends.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and focus groups and participate in company and end-user blogs, communities, and training to foster customer relationships and evangelize products.
  • Showcase PreSonus products through compelling demonstrations at dealerships or tradeshows.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of multi-year product roadmaps that optimize the company investment (cost/benefit) and ensure coordination with other product lines to optimize strategic differentiators across product lines.
  • Participate in bi-annual executive product line reviews and dealer events.
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to end of life.
  • Participate in cross-functional product development teams to ensure that proposed solutions meet business objectives and are aligned with the company strategy.
  • Develop product story and product requirements documents for assigned products, with a strong focus on ease of use and end user experience.
  • Work closely with the Presonus software development team, including aligning software releases with content and hardware releases.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to develop product and release-specific positioning, value proposition, messaging and pricing models.
  • Assure the timely delivery of new product concepts, definitions, and business cases to keep the innovation process moving constantly.
  • Understand and communicate the stage gate/phase review structure including related documentation while assuring quality and timeliness of results.

Qualifications:

  • N1 or Native level Japanese, business level English.
  • Minimum B.A. business/marketing or equivalent with further training in music and modern recording/live sound practices.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in recording industry and/or live sound preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution with the ability to analyze financial and market data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • PC proficiency (Windows and Mac environments, iOS and Android).
  • Strong working knowledge of common business software tools.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
