Customer Success Engineer OpenBlue for Industrial Refrigeration & Heating

Johnson Controls is powered by your talent. We are the power behind the customer mission. Together we are building a world that's safe, comfortable and sustainable. Our diverse global team creates innovative, integrated solutions to make cities more connected, buildings more intelligent and environments more comfortable and secure. We are all about improving outcomes for our partners. Tomorrow needs your talent. Tomorrow needs you. So let's talk today.

What you will do

As a Customer Success Engineer, you will play a key role in deploying and configuring the OpenBlue Industrial Refrigeration & Heating platform, ensuring seamless integration with customer equipment.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, multi-cultural, and highly motivated team with expertise across IT, OT, and I-IoT, offering broad opportunities to learn and work with various Industrial Refrigeration & Heating configurations and best practices.

Your primary responsibilities will include establishing connectivity, configuring systems, and mapping critical data points to help customers fully leverage the platform’s capabilities. Success in this role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong collaboration with internal teams, branches, and end customers to ensure a smooth onboarding experience and long-term operational success.

Beyond initial deployment, you will follow structured processes for random quality control, configuration enhancements, and system expansions. Leveraging your experience, you will also contribute to identifying, gathering, and prioritizing customer requirements—ensuring the platform continuously evolves to meet and exceed customer expectations.

How you will do

1. Pre-Onboarding Preparation & Configuration Planning

  • Analyze the scope of connectivity and verify it against P&ID critical data points to ensure accurate mapping in OpenBlue at a later stage.
  • Identify and understand data sources, including equipment controllers, PLCs, or hybrid configurations.
  • Standardize units of measurement and prepare a comprehensive data point list for integration when necessary.

2. Customer Site Onboarding & System Configuration

  • Verify remote connectivity to ensure seamless and secure data transfer.
  • Configure the OpenBlue Bridge for optimal system integration.
  • Map data points in OpenBlue to align with the equipment’s digital model.
  • Develop custom dashboards tailored to customer needs and operational workflows.
  • Conduct end-to-end system verification before final handover to ensure a fully functional deployment.

3. JCI Branch & Customer Enablement

  • Hand over the configured solution to the JCI branch team (installation or service) with proper guidance to ensure ongoing support.
  • Provide direct handover to end customers when necessary, ensuring effective transfer and helping the branch in the process to learn and become self-sufficient as the number of connected sites increases.

4. Quality Control, Technical Support & Issue Resolution

  • Perform random quality checks and implement control procedures to maintain data integrity and reliability.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between OpenBlue Engineering, internal support teams, and customers, managing and tracking issue resolution through the ticketing system.

5. Continuous Platform Enhancement & Innovation

  • Leverage hands-on experience to identify platform enhancements and provide structured feedback to the Product Manager.
  • Advocate for new use cases and feature improvements to ensure the platform evolves to meet and exceed customer expectations.
