02/18/2026Ovintiv’s program is a comprehensive student program (CO-OP and tradition stream accepted) designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and experiential training while giving students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in school in a real-world setting. You will work closely with an experienced mentor on a project with real responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to your team. You will have opportunities to demonstrate your initiative and determination in ways that make a positive impact on Ovintiv and further develop your talents.
Previous interns have worked on the optimization of mud motors on drilling rigs, completion design efficiency, economic analysis of well spacing trials, analyzed automated well control, and optimized gas processing equipment. As an engineering student you will likely be placed in one of the below roles, in the Calgary office or in the field depending on business need and your experience.

Hiring Hourly Range: $28.13 - $38.94 CAD
Compensation may vary and will be determined by year in school and placement location.
