We're looking for a Production Supervisor for a long-term temporary contract at our Ottawa plant.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for managing plant operations, managing the work team on his/her shift and finding solutions to various problems in order to achieve Agropur's objectives and standards. The shift runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the day.

What’s involved in this role:  

More specifically, the Production Supervisor's responsibilities are:

  • Be responsible for the plant's operational performance, including the development and deployment of performance indicators and the continuous improvement philosophy;

  • Coordinate manufacturing processes, product packaging and manpower assignment;

  • Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental standards;

  • Mobilize, develop and train the team, and empower employees;

  • Lead performance meetings with work teams;

  • Initiate problem-solving processes with teams;

  • Ensure management based on business partnership with all on-site collaborators;

  • Participate in plant committees and implement operational excellence programs;

  • Ensure application of the collective agreement.

What you need to join our team:   

  • College or university degree in a relevant field;

  • 3 to 5 years' experience as a production supervisor in a unionized environment;

  • Good computer skills (SAP, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
