The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for an Operations Manager for the USPTO to manage storage as a service (STaaS) operations using Agile best practices.   

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Implement an Agile service management framework to manage STaaS operations
  • Implement a quality assurance program which includes tracking and reporting contract SLAs
  • Ensure operational tasks are completed
  • Coordinate infrastructure changes and migrations
  • Perform capacity planning and availability management
  • Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with SOPs
  • Act as point of contact for system outages
  • Ensure escalated service requests are handled in a timely manner
  • Identify areas for operational improvements

Basic Qualifications.

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelors degree and 8 plus years of experience, or a High School diploma and 12 plus years’ experience (in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience managing STaaS operations and/or using NetApp ONTAP NAS devices, Hitachi virtual storage platform, and Hitachi enterprise SAN solutions
  • Experience managing storage infrastructure up to 10 PB or more
  • Experience working in a service level agreement (SLA) environment, experience establishing and following SLAs to meet contract and performance requirements
  • Expert knowledge of storage standards, technologies and operations

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Agile or Scrum related certification
  • Experience working in an SLA environment
  • Experience supporting production environments with greater than or equal to 99.9% system uptime
  • Experience supporting IT maintenance operations e.g. M-F: midnight to 5:30 am EST, Weekends: 10:00 pm to 5:30 am EST
  • Experience performing analysis of existing storage environment and operations and provide a gap analysis and a roadmap to achieve a future improved environment
  • Experience developing capacity management activities to plan capacity based on intermediate and near-term storage estimates and required application implementation timeframes
  • Experience developing monthly storage infrastructure operations and SLA status reporting to report storage capacity and operations
  • Experience with creating and operations using Run Books to develop and implement standard operating and escalation procedures for operations management and maintenance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
