The Fiber Supply and Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing fiber inventories and supporting fiber supply operations to ensure reliable, cost-effective mill production. This role oversees inventory tracking, forecasting, reporting, and supply coordination while partnering with Operations, Fiber Supply, and suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and support business objectives.
Responsibilities: will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Own all inventory processes for respective sites, including:
- Drone flight and manual inventory processes
- Calculation, analysis and reconciliation of inventories
- Report out and visualization of inventories
- Complete physical inventories on site (min 1x/wk)
- Use of drone to complete analysis
- Manual process serves as back-up
- Partner with Regional Fiber Manager by providing inventory analysis and forecasting to help build purchase plans
- Work directly with Operations to set inventory target levels and processes around managing inventories:
- Contingency planning for surge/reduced demand
- Alternatives for unloading/fiber receipts in the event of equipment downtime
- Communicate inventories and inform all relevant parties (Fiber/Ops) of changes in supply, demand, and/or ability to receive materials
- Understanding of fiber specifications and knowledge of fiber testing processes to assist in testing of raw materials
- Obtain base-level knowledge of Commodity Manager responsibilities to serve as Team Back-up and potential career progression
- Communicate necessary information on behalf of Enviva to suppliers, ensuring communication supports Enviva’s core values and aligns with organization goals and objectives
- Procure most financially beneficial fiber to Enviva’s/Plant’s respective overall P&L, while ensure supply volume meets required demand for mill production
- Maintain knowledge of supplier operating capacity and ensure supplier harvest / delivery plans consistently satisfy supply plans defined by Regional Fiber Supply Planner
- Track and communicate performance (safety, delivery, cost, quality) trend information with suppliers and identify / suggest areas for continuous improvement to suppliers
- Ensure suppliers provide current and accurate legal and sustainability documentation (MWPAs, financial payment information, insurance, contracts, and so on)
- Provide tract setup information to administrative staff to ensure material can be procured in accordance with our Sustainability policies and can be received at appropriate sites
- Perform required forestry / sustainability / certification related audits
- Identify, communicate, and validate new potential sources of supply as necessary to fulfill supply plans or mitigate supplier performance issues
- Develop, maintain, and communicate intimate knowledge of the current state of fiber supply business in the operating area, including competitor activity

Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in Forestry, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Natural Resources, or a related field
- At least one (1) year of experience in forestry, inventory management, supply chain, procurement, operations, logistics, or a related field
- Drone pilot’s license or demonstrated capabilities to become certified for drone operation
- Working knowledge of forestry, logging best practices, and sustainability certification schemes
- Willingness to travel to and operate in remote outdoor environments
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining supplier relationships
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Forestry, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- Two to four years of experience in forestry, fiber procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or a related industry.
- Experience with inventory forecasting, reporting, data analysis, or business intelligence tools.
- Experience operating drones and/or conducting drone-based inventory analysis.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
