The Role

This role requires an individual with demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity or large-scale technology solutions, who understands the intricacies of the Federal Government's procurement process and the unique requirements of this market. As a senior member of our sales team, the Account Director will be responsible for driving strategic growth, managing high-value deals, and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders across federal agencies. 

Your day-to-day

  • Account Management & Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans to expand our footprint within the Federal Government. Drive revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing complex software opportunities
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across federal departments, including CISOs, CIOs, and other senior stakeholders
  • Sales Leadership: Lead large-scale, complex deal negotiations from start to finish, coordinating internal resources and leveraging executive sponsors where necessary
  • Solution Selling: Demonstrate a deep understanding of cybersecurity and/or large-scale technology solutions, aligning our offerings with the unique needs of federal clients
  • Market Insights: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor landscape, and changes in government regulations to position our solutions effectively
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of deal structures and strategies
  • Performance & Reporting: Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs. Report on progress, pipeline health, and forecast accuracy regularly to senior management.

What you bring to the team

  •  Experience in Federal Government Sales: Minimum of 5 years of experience selling large-scale technology solutions directly to Australian Federal Government agencies, with a strong preference for cybersecurity expertise
  • Overall Sales Experience: Minimum of 10 years in technology/software sales, consistently achieving or exceeding targets
  • Proven Track Record: Documented history of sales performance, with regular achievement of Presidents Club or equivalent awards, highlighting top-tier sales achievements
  • Established Network: A well-developed network of high-level contacts within the Federal Government, particularly within departments and agencies focused on IT and cybersecurity
