JOB DESCRIPTION:

To support our EMEA organization, we are looking for a Medical Affairs Specialist EMEA to be based at our EMEA Headquarters in Diegem, Belgium, playing a key role in supporting clinical research and medical affairs activities across the region.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide scientific and medical expertise to support medical affairs and clinical research initiatives across EMEA
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and execution of clinical study protocols
  • Support and coordinate Phase III and IV clinical trials for Abbott Vascular products
  • Identify, recruit, and collaborate with clinical investigators, including discussions on study design and costs
  • Monitor clinical studies to ensure adherence to protocols, timelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate investigator site initiations, investigator meetings, and multi‑center group studies
  • Support adverse event reporting and safety monitoring activities in collaboration with relevant teams
  • Prepare and coordinate clinical documentation and reports for submission to regulatory authorities
  • Act as a medical liaison with internal stakeholders and, when applicable, external partners under licensing or collaboration agreements

What We’re Looking For

  • University degree in Medicine (MD), Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Pharmacology, or a related scientific discipline, or qualification as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong scientific expertise and analytical skills
  • Experience or solid knowledge of the vascular and/or endovascular therapeutic area
  • Good understanding of Medical Affairs, Medical Science, and/or Clinical Affairs
  • Experience working with clinical studies and clinical trial processes
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in an international environment
  • A proactive, results‑driven mindset and strong ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset
