‎ 

*Perform product development and maintenance activities, including experience analysis,  the research of assumptions and developing projections of future product performance.

*Provide all technical work and data needed to fulfill regulatory requirements of product line, including rate justifications and actuarial exhibits, and provide actuarial support for customer service and administrative system technical needs.  

*(Level III) Mentor lower level analysts, and further develop actuarial knowledge and skills by passing SOA actuarial examinations and obtaining the ASA designation, working towards FSA designation, and/or meeting all SOA Continuing Education Requirements. 

Technical Skills & Requirements

  • Expert PC skills with comprehensive knowledge of Excel, including the use of macros
  • Ability to readily create/modify SQL programs
  • In depth knowledge of insurance products with a comprehensive understanding of the actuarial aspects of pricing approaches and profitability maintenance
  • Understanding of related compliance and legal issues, general taxation issues and industry distribution methods, internal operation and administration systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of pricing software
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Shows initiative, such as addressing problems when needed
  • Demonstrates ownership of projects and work product
  • Good planning and organizational skills, including management of multiple assignments
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, analytical and interpretative skills

    Education & Certifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from Four-Year College or University in mathematics, computer science or related technical field area of study required
    • 3 years up to 7 years
    • (Level II) Completion of at least three Society of Actuaries exams and VEE requirements
    • (Level III) Associate of the Society of Actuaries
