Bring your radiology skills to something brand-new.

Intermountain Health is launching a new Pain Management clinic and we’re building our team from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape patient experience, develop strong clinic workflows, and grow alongside a service line that is ramping up.

We’re open to new graduates who are ready to learn, contribute, and build a strong foundation in an outpatient clinical setting—with the support of an experienced team.

To show our commitment to you and to assist with your transition into our organization, we will also offer up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Job Description Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do (Essential Functions)

  • Maintain ARRT and/or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for their exam.
  • Perform imaging exams per department protocol; review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
  • Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, positioning, and equipment use.
  • Provide patient education, support comfort measures, and address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding/charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

A Unique Part of This Role (Clinic Flexibility)

Because this is a new clinic that is still ramping up—and planning to add an additional provider in the next ~6 months—this role is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a growing team. In addition to imaging responsibilities, you may be asked to help with supportive clinic duties that improve 1:1 patient care, such as:

  • Escorting/rooming patients and getting them settled in exam rooms
  • Assisting the team with minor clinical workflow support as needed
  • Pitching in to ensure a smooth, patient-centered clinic experience

(May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform MA functions in a clinic setting.)

Skills & Competencies

  • Anatomy knowledge
  • Image evaluation
  • Equipment operation
  • Contrast protocols
  • Emergency response
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Clear, compassionate communication
  • Electronic imaging proficiency
  • Strong prioritization and time management
  • Commitment to clean/safe environments

Minimum Qualifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification
  • Radiologic technologist license in state of practice
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers
