Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in CICS, DB2, and COBOL to design, develop, and maintain high-performance mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with transactional processing systems, database optimization, and production support in large-scale enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
Application Design & Development
• Design, develop, and enhance CICS online and COBOL-DB2 batch applications based on business requirements.
• Write and optimize embedded SQL queries and DB2 stored procedures for high-performance data access.
• Develop BMS maps and manage pseudo-conversational CICS programs.
• Build and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and job automation.
System Analysis & Maintenance
• Analyze, debug, and resolve production issues related to CICS transactions and DB2 database operations.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct impact analysis for system changes and prepare detailed technical documentation.
Performance & Optimization
• Tune CICS transactions and DB2 SQL for performance improvement and resource efficiency.
• Collaborate with DBAs and system programmers to optimize database access paths, indexes, and system parameters.
• Utilize diagnostic tools (Abend-AID, Xpediter, Strobe, OMEGAMON) for troubleshooting and performance analysis.
Testing & Quality Assurance
• Prepare and execute unit, integration, and regression test cases.
• Support QA and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Production Support & Deployment
• Provide L3 production support and ensure system stability during releases and deployments.
• Support 24x7 on-call rotation for business-critical systems as needed.
• Work with Change Management tools (Endevor, Changeman) for controlled deployments.
Collaboration & Leadership
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior developers in mainframe best practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide accurate effort estimates.

• Transaction Processing: CICS (BMS, COMMAREA, MAPSET, PPT, PCT)
• Database: DB2 (SQL, SPUFI, QMF, Plans/Packages, Bind processes)
• Tools & Utilities: Xpediter, File-AID, Abend-AID, Endevor, Changeman, ISPF, SDSF
• Middleware/Integration: IBM MQ, SOAP/REST APIs (preferred)
• Operating System: z/OS, TSO/ISPF environment
• Version Control/DevOps: Endevor, Changeman, Git (optional)
• Performance Tools: Strobe, OMEGAMON
