Under the guidance of Mondelēz International’s legal IP leader or IP counsel, you deliver on our Intellectual Property (IP) legal strategy, activities, and service delivery model in a legal IP area. How you will contribute:

In this role, you provide strategic legal IP support to the business unit, region and global stakeholders and work closely with them to ensure legal IP concepts and implications are understood and related legal and operational risks are assessed. You will operate IP systems and technologies relevant to the area of support, prepare documents, gather information, and interact with business partners to deliver objectives and provide expertise and experience in a legal IP area to identify and advise on laws and regulatory changes in area globally.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal to join our in-house legal team. This role will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's trademark portfolio across the Latin America and the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) regions. The role is split between these regions with an estimate of 60/40 work allocated to territories in the regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international trademark law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Management
Manage and maintain the company's trademark portfolio across Latin America and AMEA jurisdictions, including new filings, declaration of use
Monitor and manage critical deadlines, including filing dates, office action responses, opposition periods, and declaration of use/renewal deadlines
Coordinate with local outside counsel and agents in multiple jurisdictions to ensure timely and accurate filings
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the trademark management database/docketing system
Prosecution & Registration
Prepare, review, and file trademark applications, declarations of use/renewals, and other filings in coordination with outside counsel
Review and respond to office actions, formality objections, and examination reports in collaboration with attorneys and/or outside counsel
Conduct and coordinate trademark clearance searches and prepare preliminary search reports
Monitor trademark registers and publications for potential conflicts
Enforcement & Protection
Support trademark enforcement activities, including cease-and-desist letters, oppositions, and cancellation actions
Assist with domain name disputes and anti-counterfeiting efforts in the relevant regions
Monitor and report on potential infringements and unauthorized use of company trademarks
Coordinate with customs authorities for border enforcement measures where applicable
Administrative & Strategic Support
Liaise with internal business teams, marketing, and product teams regarding trademark clearance and brand protection matters
Prepare status reports, portfolio summaries, and budget tracking for management review
Manage relationships with outside counsel, including fee negotiations and performance evaluations
Support due diligence activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and licensing agreements
