The Opportunity:

You will provide critical support to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). You will use your skills to provide data collection, analysis, management, interpretation, visualization, and reporting; advanced statistical analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, and inferences; tool development and model building to enhance data-driven, fact-based decision making; management and business process modeling; budget and workforce planning, formulation, justification, and forecasting; strategic planning and implementation; risk assessment and management; performance measure development and reporting; program development; research and program evaluation planning and implementation. You will provide supervision, management, industry knowledge, training, documentation, and technical/analytical support.


Responsibilities:

As a Senior Operations Research Analyst you will:

  • Apply techniques for entity resolution to identify, define, and establish relationships between data entities and objects. Generate Entity-Relationship, data flow, and dependency diagrams
  • Design data models and develop relational tables that provide the basis for devising enterprise data storage, access, and protection policies, and inform the data architects selections of platforms, tools, and technologies for integrating information needs across all business processes
  • Design, develop, and deploy new data models and relational tables that conform to real-world object entities and business processes to support data-driven decision making across HSI, ensuring system flexibility, scalability, security, performance, and reliability
  • Confirm that data models and relational tables are representative of all use cases, and adequately illustrate business processes being conducted
  • Align data models with established strategic objectives for data architecture
  • Develop integrated information system and data catalogs
  • Ensure that data models and relational tables are properly referenced by all application users and programmers, and refined to remain relevant, useful, current, and realistic. Verify and validate the models to ensure that they serve the needs of business applications and end users
  • Update existing data models and relational tables to integrate new data


Qualifications:
 

--DHS/ICE, DOD, or other federal agency clearance

--Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of overall, relevant experience

--Master’s degree (MA/MS) required in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a similar field.In lieu of a MA/MS: Bachelors degree (BA/BS) required in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a similar field, plus an additional two (2) years data analytics experience (seven (7) years total experience in each of the items below) and certifications consistent with current technical standards

--Five (5) years of experience in each of the following:

  • Developing data-driven performance reporting tools to include gathering information from various sources and assembling the information into a comprehensive work product for leadership decisions, in addition to working with a variety of diverse and complicated projects and performing under tight time constraints
  • Data analytics and creating user-friendly data-driven management-level decision making tools, such as dashboards and models, to include combining multiple fields among multiple datasets and conducting different types of calculations/analyses (e.g., trend analysis, forecasting, descriptive statistics)
  • Tableau Desktop, Tableau Enterprise Server, and R programming, demonstrating proficiency building dashboards with multiple parameters and large optimized datasets, and writing SQL queries and using R/Python within the Tableau environment. Training certificate demonstrating proficiency preferred
  • Exerting quality control over deliverables to include working with clients to improve data quality
  • Performance measures and efficiency statistics
  • Presenting data and dashboards to an interdisciplinary audience

--Experience with Tableau Prep, Power BI, and other tools preferred, but not required.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$78,700 - $165,300
