ROLE SUMMARY

The most senior managerial role reporting to Vice President, Professional Services – Risk (within Treasury & Risk business line) – oversees and directs professional consulting practice activities for the Risk Management product line. Responsible for working with financial institutions to assess needs and develop solutions through individual contribution and/or leading subordinates to ensure the achievement of client satisfaction and contribution to divisional revenue and EBITDA goals. Collaborates with Vice President, other Practice Management Directors and sales resources to establish business development plans and objectives; develop sales opportunities; prepare proposals; and enhance financial risk management services. Makes final decisions on administrative/operational matters within the Risk Management PS Practice and ensures effective achievement of objectives. Leads high-profile engagements that may involve the most complex issues and/or enforcement actions where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of requirements and/or industry best practices. Develops and motivates staff. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Regularly interacts with financial institution executives. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as ability to influence senior management regarding matters of significance to the organization. Typically requires more than fifteen years of experience in financial services.                                                                                 .

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business
    • Owns the Risk Management product line PS revenue, cost and margin targets globally.
    • Ensures accurate financial forecasting (incl. any funded development) and takes action to close gaps between forecast and budget.
    • Owns global Risk Management PS Practice capacity and ensures that the PS Practice is staffed correctly to achieve budget.
    • Works with the Line of Business (“LOB”) (Risk Management product line Solution Manager) to understand product strategy and ensure services plans/goals are aligned (e.g., introduction new modules, regulatory change, regional expansion).
    • Works with Services organisation and LOB to develop future budgets and long-range plans, when asked to do so.
    • Develops strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Product, Sales, Pre-sales, Development, CX etc.), ensuring that interlock discussions are conducted with an appropriate cadence.
    • Represents PS interests during pre-sales and contract negotiation (e.g., daily rates, comprehensive scoping in place, key contract terms are included - essentially, we only enter into commercially viable PS Contracts).

  • Clients
    • Develops strong relationships with senior stakeholders at key clients and projects and provides thought leadership/trusted advisor role.
    • Escalation point for project issues, ownership of Risk Management PS escalations and project Get to Green plans.
    • Identifies opportunities to upsell/cross sell additional services.

  • Talent
    • Develops and executes global hiring plan in alignment with LOB and Capital Markets location/hiring strategy.
    • Sets relevant individual goals (Performance, Client, Behavioural and/or Development) for team members and ensures appropriate development and training plans are in place.
    • Identifies key talent within Risk Management PS by Assessing Team Potential, ensures succession plans are in place and that the development needs of successors are identified and addressed.
    • Develops relationships with sub-contracting partners.
    • Develops and implements plans to address issues raised in annual GLINT survey.

  • Innovation
    • Creates a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Introduces Onboarding delivery practices for products in scope.
    • Identifies opportunities to introduce best practices or new services from other product line PS leaders (L7).

  • Administrative 
    • Ensures team meets corporate targets for regulatory compliance training (RegU), timesheets completions, Access Reviews etc.

The successful candidate will have a transformational track record as a Professional Services leader, ideally with experience in Capital Markets or Insurance Risk. This individual will have a history of managing the growth of client relationships and generating outstanding and sustainable business performance. This leader will have proven ability to execute flawlessly and drive/motivate others to do the same. Success in this role will be determined by the individual’s track-record of building sustainable and exponential business growth over an extended period-of- time.

    • Experience with selling and proven ability to grow revenue streams profitably.

    • Exceptional analytical skills. Has a strong external focus on client, competitor, regulatory & marketplace trends, preferably in the securities and derivatives processing space.
    • Exhibits a passion for the client, ability to prioritize and retain focus, execute relentlessly, experiment and drive innovation.
    • Strong problem-solving ability, and practical experience in delivering complex solutions in a fast-moving business landscape. Adaptability in pressure situations, and empathy for clients and staff.

  • Strong Communication & Client Management Skills
    • Highly articulate communicator who can convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner at all levels of the organization.
    • Proven track record working with “C” suite Executives and Boards, equally comfortable addressing large public audiences or senior level customers.


FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $171,910.00 - $288,820.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
