Therapy Area Manager, Rare Diseases (Latvia)

As a Therapy Area Manager (TAM) in Rare Diseases, you will lead the in‑market execution of AstraZeneca’s strategies and deliver sales performance for assigned brands and indications across your country. In addition, you will deliver strong external engagement to drive pre-launch excellence, practice change initiatives, and patient pathway optimization. You will uphold AstraZeneca Values and compliance standards while fostering effective cross‑functional collaboration across the Baltics and broader CEEBA Area.

What you’ll do

• Own business performance: Manage your brand/therapy area to phased budget targets; analyze and report monthly performance drivers; lead local input to annual and mid‑term forecasts; and manage indication/brand budgets.
• Drive (pre)launch excellence: Lead the Strategy Plan (TSP) process and cross‑functional LRR preparation; identify gaps and opportunities along the patient journey; co‑create account strategies with KAM/TAS in priority centers; develop and execute omnichannel campaigns for launches and mature indications; deliver brand and campaign training; and manage compliant approvals and PromoMats submissions.
• Build external partnerships: Spend significant time in the field to grow AZ’s Rare Disease leadership; build trusted, compliant relationships with decision‑makers and clinical influencers; refine target segmentation and prioritization; execute high‑quality interaction and activity plans; contribute to above‑brand market initiatives; and navigate a rapidly evolving ecosystem of science, diagnostics, and regulatory change.
• Collaborate to win: Proactively collaborate within the Baltic cluster and with CEEBA peers to exchange best practices and co‑create joint projects; lead effectively in cross‑functional teams without direct line authority.
• Champion compliance: Complete all required training and certifications; ensure all activities adhere to the AZ Code of Ethics, Global External Interactions Policy and Standards, and Privacy Policies; and promptly report potential non‑compliance.

About you

• Education: Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Marketing, Economics or related field
• Experience: Proven pharmaceutical product launches; secondary care or oncology/Rare Disease sales with strong account management foundations; key account management across multidisciplinary stakeholders (e.g., MDTs, Pharmacy, Clinical/Medical Directors, hospital administration)
• Capabilities: Strong analytical and strategic thinking; creative omnichannel marketing with rigorous commercial acumen; excellent cross‑functional collaboration and informal leadership
• Skills: Proficiency in English and MS Office; valid driving licence

• Education: Advanced degree in a relevant field
• Network: Established relationships with local oncology stakeholders and MDTs
• Tools & insights: Skilled in CRM/analytics and using data to inform account strategies and measure impact
• Market know‑how: Understanding of local market access dynamics and institutional decision‑making
