Job Description

S&C Battea is hiring a Senior Developer for its Data Processing Automation team, focusing on developing robust solutions for handling structured and unstructured data, automating workflows, and building scalable applications.  Collaboration and communication with team members and end users to gather requirements, design, and build appropriate solutions is an imperative.  The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies such as C#.NET, Oracle PL/SQL, and Microsoft Blazor to support data-driven systems.  AI-assisted development tools are used to accelerate delivery. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing efficient database solutions, building data processing services and scripts, building interactive web applications for interbal use, parsing and processing data, automating workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and ensure seamless integration.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, 10+ years of experience, proficiency in C#.NET and Oracle PL/SQL, familiarity with Microsoft Blazor, and basic knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS/SCSS, as well as experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot. Nice-to-have skills include experience with GitHub, Agile methodologies, JSON/XML, Python, and exposure to market data systems. The ideal candidate should exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, quick learning capabilities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain systems to enable automated and efficient processing of data using .NET, Oracle, and other technologies.
• Develop and optimize backend services, APIs, and data access layers.
• Write efficient, well-structured SQL using Oracle.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Adhere to best practices and object-oriented principles.
• Perform requirements gathering, business and systems analysis, and project planning.
• Collaborate with the team to research and design creative solutions to accommodate business needs.
• Test, validate, and deploy high-quality, reliable software products following established quality assurance and release practices.

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE:

• 10+ years of working with relational databases including stored procedures (Oracle PL/SQL preferred)
• 5+ years of experience developing applications using a object-oriented languages (C# preferred).
• Self-directed and able to work autonomously with minimal oversight, while collaborating effectively when needed, and having the experience to recognize when each is called for.
• Strong database skills - comfortable writing and optimizing queries, designing schemas, and troubleshooting database related problems.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot (Claude Code experience strongly preferred).
• Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Understanding of common software project management practices.
• Understanding of common software development practices.

PREFERRED / PLUSES:

• Microsoft Blazor experience.
• Claude Code experience (preferred over other AI coding assistants).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and data serialization formats (JSON, XML).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Experience working for a financial industry company and knowledge of securities.
