Commercial Credit Analyst

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst for our Finance team.  

This communicative and data-driven individual will be responsible for evaluating the financial health and creditworthiness of Triumvirate and its stakeholders to help the business make informed decisions

This position reports to The Vice President of Finance. This role is hybrid and is based in Somerville, MA.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Credit Assessment:
    Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients using a variety of tools, including credit reports, financial statements, and relevant data to assess risk and determine appropriate credit limits.
  • Client Account Monitoring:
    Continuously monitor client accounts for changes in financial health or credit risk. Track payment history, review account status, and ensure that credit terms are adhered to.
  • Credit Reporting:
    Prepare and present regular reports on credit risk, outstanding balances, and payment trends to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations for credit management strategies.
  • Risk Mitigation:
    Identify and flag potentially risky clients or accounts, and work proactively to mitigate the risk through improved credit terms, collections efforts, or adjustments to credit limits as necessary.
  • Client Communication:
    Serve as a point of contact for clients on credit-related issues.
  • Accurate Record Keeping:
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of client credit history, decisions, and communications. Use data to monitor trends and make informed decisions on credit policies and practices.
  • Policy Adherence:
    Ensure all credit decisions align with company credit policies and industry regulations. Assist in reviewing and updating company credit policies and procedures as needed.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments:
    Work closely with sales, finance, and customer service teams to ensure that credit assessments align with business goals and that any credit issues are handled promptly and effectively. Effectively communicate potential client credit issues with internal stakeholders.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Account, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in a credit-related role, such as credit analysis, collections, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis techniques and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficiency with credit assessment software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify trends or irregularities in client accounts.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with clients and internal stakeholders professionally.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make sound judgments based on data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., credit risk certification) are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Oracle software
