Position Summary:
CVS Health is seeking a Manager, OpEx WMS Optimization and Analytics to drive warehouse management system (WMS) performance and data-driven improvements across CVS Distribution Centers. This role is responsible for understanding the WMS platform. Including its thousands of configuration settings and systematically optimizing those settings to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity outcomes. The individual will build data models in Snowflake and develop Power BI dashboards and business intelligence solutions that surface actionable insights, then travel to distribution center sites (~30% travel) to train operational teams on tools, data, and WMS best practices. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in the data layer and on the distribution center floor.
Key Responsibilities:
WMS Configuration & Optimization (~40%) – Develop deep expertise in the CVS WMS platform across three core focus areas:
Process Configuration Settings (50% of WMS focus) – The largest area of focus. Audit, analyze, and optimize the WMS settings that define how core warehouse processes operate, including task sequencing, workflow logic, receiving/putaway/picking rules, exception handling, and system parameters. These settings fundamentally drive operational behavior and outcomes across the network.
Labor Management (50% of WMS focus) – Optimize labor management settings including task assignment logic, zone allocation, incentive structures, and performance tracking to maximize associate productivity and safety.
Support future Manhattan WMS go lives.
Partner with site operations, IT, and vendor teams to test, validate, and implement configuration changes. Document configuration standards and maintain a continuous improvement roadmap for WMS performance.
Data Modeling & Business Intelligence (~45%) – Build and maintain semantic data models in Snowflake to support distribution operations analytics. Develop Power BI dashboards and self-service BI tools that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both network-level leadership and site-level operators. Standardize and migrate existing site-specific reports into scalable network-wide Power BI solutions. Use data to identify WMS configuration opportunities, operational inefficiencies, and KPI improvement areas.
Site Training & Enablement (~15%) – Travel to CVS distribution centers (~30% of time) to deliver hands-on training on WMS functionality, configuration best practices, and Power BI tools. Build training materials and user guides that empower site teams to leverage data and WMS capabilities independently. Serve as a subject matter expert for site teams navigating WMS settings and analytics tools.
Project & Change Management – Plan and manage multiple concurrent projects with strong attention to critical path, risk, and dependencies. Develop business cases for optimization initiatives and follow through rigorously to ensure changes are successfully adopted at the sites.
Process Improvement – Identify and drive improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the distribution network by connecting WMS configuration and data insights to operational root causes. Partner with Lean, Op Ex, IC, and IE resources to bring opportunities to closure.
Ideal candidate location aligns with one of the following distribution centers in: LaHabra (CA), Patterson (CA), Conroe (TX), Lumberton (NJ), Woonsocket (RI), Chemung (NY), Novi (MI), Kansas City (MO), Indianapolis (IN), Orlando (FL), North Augusta (SC), Fredericksburg (VA), or Knoxville (TN).
