About the Role

At the heart of 7-Eleven is our culture, a culture of learning, empowerment, adaptability, and collaboration. As part of your role, you will help reshape our customer offer and drive revenue growth, identifying and generating opportunities for value creation with suppliers. You will have a passion for building and sustaining capability, creating a culture of negotiation and being a trusted partner to the Category team.  

Key responsibilities

  • Commercial advisory to grow our net revenue – Leading how our business grows margin and manages our competitive value position
  • Lead and grow the better buying & pricing team - a team of experienced retail professionals
  • Support and influence category teams in cost and supplier negotiations, as well as pricing and promotion
  • Develop our supplier engagement approach to maximise collaboration and value creation 
  • Manage the negotiation skills program, including external relationships – curate 7-Eleven culture of negotiation 
  • Define, align and embed Price & Promotional guidelines/strategy and level change promotional effectiveness
  • Partner with senior Commercial Tribe and enterprise stakeholders and embrace 7-Eleven’s ways of working to motivate and inspire 7-Eleven’s employees 

Whats in your toolkit?

  • Extensive experience within Retail/FMCG businesses in Revenue Growth Management, and/or Pricing and Better Buying or Commercial Finance
  • Problem solving and analytical ability paramount
  • Experience in setting and executing negotiation and/or pricing strategies, or equivalent commercial responsibilities 
  • Proven experience coaching and developing teams in ways of working and industry best practise 
  • Continuous learning and curiosity – looking outwards and forward, proactively responding to a changing environment 
  • High levels of EQ, you lead with self-awareness and high integrity 
  • Experience working in, or closely with, category buying teams
