The Senior Manager, Corporate Insurance is responsible for Vanguard’s global corporate insurance program. In conjunction with their team, the role develops and implements the firm’s global risk transfer strategy in partnership with the business other stakeholders (e.g., Enterprise Risk Management). Ultimately, they assist the business in effectively transferring risk through Vanguard’s captive insurance entity, the commercial insurance market, and other alternative risk transfer mechanisms, ensuring Vanguard meets the expectations of our key constituents, such as clients, crew, regulators, business partners, and directors.

In this role, you will:

  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Develop strategic objectives and short- and long-term goals for the insurance function. Oversees the placement and annual renewal of corporate insurance policies. Maintain fidelity bonding, professional liability and property/casualty coverages. Perform risk and insurance consulting.
  • Oversee captive insurance company to finance specialized risk exposures.
  • Develops direct and oversee strategic risk management initiatives. Provide direction and guidance on opportunities available in the insurance marketplace.
  • Select and manage insurance brokers. Ensure that brokers provide effective risk advice, timely insurance administration, and placement of insurance that is the broadest coverage at the best price.
  • Develop, oversees, customize and deliver insurance disclosures for internal and external audiences.
  • File professional liability claims and consults on other property/casualty claims as needed. Oversee the claims process with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least three years of corporate insurance or risk management. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
