Quality Project Manager

Description -

The quality program management support roll in the service supply chain management is a world wide position supporting administrative activities that enable the engineering department to enact changes, track processes, and follow up and report out.  These activities include:

  • Running weekly reports

  • Managing the Supplier Engineering Change Notification system, which includes reporting out metrics, assisting in escalating when system is down, and training.

  • Managing the worldwide part capture process. This requires training the quality departments issuing captures – weekly follow up WW with the repair sites, and ensuring captures are effective.

  • Managing the engineering SharePoint(s)

  • Being the liaison with different groups around data systems and helping the engineering department on issues pertaining to quality and supply chain systems.

A successful candidate will have knowledge of database systems, MS office applications, and basic knowledge of MS servers, and Sharepoint(s).    Additionally, the candidate must be organized, ability to manage multiple projects, and processes. Candidate must be fluent in English, and able to work off hours to meet varied meeting schedules worldwide.

General Job Description         

Leads programs and projects regarding implementation of Quality improvement strategies, measurement, and training. Supports leadership in driving quality culture and quality improvements within the organization. Responsible for identifying and improving process and program efficiency and effectiveness. Ensures that projects and programs align with the quality strategy and vision. Coaches and provides direction to the business or functional area on quality improvement projects in order to achieve desired business results. Projects are typically shorter-term, less complex and more contained with a defined time frame. Programs are typically longer-term, multi-functional, multi-project with complex requirements and effort.

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads a program involving one or more functions and project teams to promote quality culture and drive the quality improvement process for a subsystem or component of a product or service offering.

  • Develops schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned program.

  • Influences the process roadmap by sharing relevant feedback to implement optimal solutions to issues faced on quality projects/programs.

  • Coordinates activities of supporting project teams and internal and external partners; tracks progress against established plan and makes decisions to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet product requirements and development schedule.

  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal development, manufacturing and service delivery partners to implement changes to product, process, or program plan to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules.

  • Provides consultation on scalable system and process design to maximize efficiency, improve the customer experience and minimize errors and manual processes on quality projects/programs.

  • Collaborates with the quality project/program team members to understand lessons learned to ensure project and process improvements are captured from concept to launch.

  • Identifies, initiates, implements, and scales quality programs for process improvements, new operational workflows, and technological innovations with minimal guidance and support.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members and contributes to their growth within the organization.

Education and Experience Required

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in project and program management, quality, lean six sigma, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
