The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will develop and create detailed 2D and 3D designs, drawings, and models for various components and assemblies of electrical transformers, utilizing CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) also interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements to produce accurate and compliant designs.

2. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and optimal performance also perform design calculations and simulations to validate design integrity and functionality.
3. You will generate bills of materials (BOMs) and support documentation for production also review and revise existing designs based on feedback, testing results, or updated standards.

4. You will participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives also ensure all designs comply with relevant international and national electrical standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI) and company internal quality procedures.

5. You will maintain organized design records and documentation within the company's data management systems.

6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.

2. 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical or electrical design, preferably within the heavy electrical equipment, power generation, or transformer manufacturing industry.

3. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).

4. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

5. Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI) for electrical equipment and transformers is highly desirable.

6. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

9. Proficiency in written and spoken English is preferred due to international collaboration.
