What will you do?

The Settlements Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of financial transactions. They are responsible for processing and reconciling trades, maintaining relationships with external financial institutions, and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to settlements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Process, monitor, and reconcile a variety of financial transactions, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives, ensuring all settlements are executed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any trade discrepancies, ensuring smooth settlement processes.
  • Identify and report any potential settlement risk and actively work to mitigate these risks through proactive communication and problem-solving.
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of trade settlements, ensuring that all trades match and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Ensure all settlement activities adhere to relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of all settlement activities and provide regular reports to management.
  • Investigate and resolve any failed settlements or discrepancies in a timely and effective manner, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Identify opportunities to improve settlement processes and contribute to the development and implementation of more efficient settlement procedure.

You will also need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field. Additional financial certifications (e.g., CFA,) are a plus. Has reporting and auditing background/experience
  • Proven experience as a Settlements Specialist or in a similar financial role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools and Microsoft Office applications
