Responsibilities 

Oaktree is seeking a Treasury Manager to lead our Payments Team and support broader treasury operations across the firm. This role will manage daytoday payment operations, strengthen Oaktree’s global cash movement infrastructure, and interface with the Capital Activity, Fund Accounting, Deal Operations, and Cash Operations. 

 

You will oversee the operational execution of payments, ensure proper controls and compliance, interface with banking  

partners, and contribute to Oaktree’s continued modernization of its treasury and banking environment. 

 

This is a highly visible role that blends operational leadership, governance responsibilities, and strategic project work. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead and mentor the global Payments Team responsible for daily wire processing, cash movements, and payment exception handling across Management Company and Funds. 
  • Evaluate current operational controls and procedures to identify opportunities for improved efficiency 
  • Enhance and maintain bank account validation, including Standard Settlement Instructions with routine audits across internal systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of bank account data 
  • Review or authorize repetitive payment templates; input payments within internal systems, bank portals and provide backup support as needed 
  • Oversee all outgoing cash flows, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls and bank requirements. 
  • Establish, refine, and enforce payment policies, approval workflows, and segregation-of-duties standards. 
  • Coordinate with the Capital Activity team on cash calls, distributions, and complex fund-related movements. 
  • Partner with Compliance, Operations, and Legal to ensure adherence to AML/KYC, sanctions screening, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Provide payment oversight on high-volume or high-value fund transactions across multiple asset classes and global entities. 
  • Partner with Internal Audit to prepare evidence, walkthroughs, and remediation plans. 
  • Maintain and update Treasury policy documentation including banking, payments, and access frameworks. 
  • Partner on treasury technology initiatives such as payment automation, bank APIs, ISO 20022 readiness, and SWIFT connectivity improvements. 
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, templates, controls, and workflows. 

  

Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of experience in Treasury, Payments, Fund Operations, or related financial operations. 

  • Experience managing or overseeing a payments function or operational team. 

  • Strong knowledge of wire processing, banking portals, cash movement controls, and exception management. 

  • Familiarity with SOX, internal controls, approval workflows, and user entitlements. 

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to interact with executives and cross-functional teams. 

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and execution skills. 

  • Familiarity working with large or complex data sets 

  • Working knowledge of capital calls, distributions, and fund structures. 

  • Exposure to SWIFT, ISO 20022 formats, and bank connectivity channels. 

  • Experience with treasury technology (e.g., Kyriba, GTreasury) or bank portal modernization.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint/Teams or equivalent applications 

  • Experience in Bank Fee Analysis a plus 

  • Experience in PowerBI a plus 

  • CTP a plus

Education
