JOB SUMMARY
The Driver Helper is responsible for assisting the delivery driver unloading, checking the quality and delivering the product to the customer location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safety and efficiently delivering and unloading products sold to customers according to customer specifications and Company’s delivery procedures at customer locations.
- Develop and establish good relationship with customer by providing excellent courteous service.
- Carries out all instructions as directed by the Driver
- Learn route to various locations
- Assist and guide the Driver during maneuvers when entering and existing loading bays
- Assist Driver in repositioning items which may have shifted in route and ensures all loads are secured properly
- Perform Inventory of all products before and after delivery
- Follows directions from the Driver in offloading specific items at various locations
- Follows instruction from Supervisor in depositing returned items to staging area
- Work safely by following Company’s preferred work methods of lifting with the legs.
- Removal of products, pallets and equipment at the completion of routed deliveries
- Offloading trailers as directed by Warehouse Supervisors
- Other duties as assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Prefer High School or GED or equivalent.
Professional Skills
- Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Physical Demands
- Frequent moving of product up to 50 pounds during the shift; infrequent moving up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck.
- Frequent bending, squatting, pushing and pulling.
- Exposure to bright lights, extremes temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and /or fumes.
- Move product on a two-wheeler or forklift.
Work Environment
- Cold warehouse environment.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot weather, rain, and extremely cold temperatures).
