General Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
• Define and execute the long-term technical vision, identifying disruptive technologies and opportunities for innovation.
• Champion R&D initiatives, experimentation, and adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI).
• Foster a culture of continuous innovation, encouraging engineers to explore bold ideas while balancing business impact.
• Partner with Product and Business leaders to align engineering innovation with market opportunities.
Technical & Operational Excellence
• Oversee large-scale, high-impact engineering programs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Drive engineering best practices while optimizing processes for speed and efficiency.
• Mentor and grow senior engineering leaders, promoting technical depth and leadership at all levels.
• Evaluate and modernize tech stack, tools, and platforms to maintain competitive advantage.
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Act as a key advisor to the CTO/executive team on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate business challenges into innovative technical solutions.
• Engage with customers, partners, and industry leaders to identify forward-looking engineering opportunities.
Team Development & Culture
• Attract, retain, and develop top-tier engineering talent, with a focus on innovation-driven mindsets.
• Build high-performing, collaborative teams that thrive in solving complex problems.
• Promote a culture of intellectual curiosity and experimentation.
Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 12+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership (Director+ level).
• Proven track record of driving innovation • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
