MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting development of global category strategy, and responsible for implementing local category strategy
  • Develop and monitor supplier performance in cooperation with other functions and leading a cross functional team of buyer, design, quality, production engineers
  • Manage and develop a sustainable supplier base that supports Division strategy
  • Sourcing strategy development and implementation
  • To manage new supplier projects, ensure agreed targets and secure supply.
  • Total cost of ownership, ensuring category strategy implementation and managing supplier negotiations are vital part of the job
  • Develop and maintain strategic partners to cooperate with PU engineering, quality and manufacturing for value add
  • Develop and maintain sourcing projects, ensure targets and secure supply
  • Target cost and supplier selection/involvement as sourcing representative in R&D projects
  • Follow supplier market and trends globally and locally
  • Conduct supplier negotiations and selection process in collaboration with SQ and supply
  • Contract management
  • Supplier capacity management and quality management in supplier selection
  • Ensure adherence to Sandvik Purchasing Policy, Code of Conduct and EHS and sustainability targets.
  • About 30% plus travel is required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or company.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Min. 5 years in strategic purchasing or sourcing and experience in mechanical engineering industry in production, purchasing or R&D
  • Working with welded and/or electric components in the heavy industry (e.g., construction machinery, mining machinery industry or similar), with solid sourcing experiences on steel fabrication and/or electric category
  • Good knowledge in Strategic purchasing and supplier relationship management
  • Knowledge in fundaments of financing and agreement law
  • Risk analysis and supplier audit knowledge
  • Technical and commercial orientation
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and R&D processes
  • Analytical, problem solving skills and project management skills
  • Good collaboration skills to build effective relations internally and externally
  • Service attitude, good communication and negotiation skills
  • Change management governance skills
  • Fluency in English
