About Pinterest:

Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It’s where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. In your role, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping Pinners make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.

Creating a life you love also means finding a career that celebrates the unique perspectives and experiences that you bring. As you read through the expectations of the position, consider how your skills and experiences may complement the responsibilities of the role. We encourage you to think through your relevant and transferable skills from prior experiences.

Our new progressive work model is called PinFlex, a term that’s uniquely Pinterest to describe our flexible approach to living and working. Visit our PinFlex landing page to learn more.

This role is primarily responsible for working to support the VP of Engineering for Monetization, as well as their most senior engineering leadership team. This is the team responsible for building, delivering, and maintaining all the systems that comprise Pinterest’s advertising platform – both user and advertiser facing.

You will serve as a trusted advisor, working closely with a cross-functional leadership team (engineering, product, design & data science). Your ultimate goal is to be a force multiplier in realizing the potential of the leadership team. In doing so, you will seek opportunities to maximize productivity, improve processes, grow the team and develop the business. For your executive, your understanding of the organization, operations and execution will enable you to advise on prioritization, structured decision making, and at times act as a proxy.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a wide range of strategic cross-functional projects that have the potential for impact across the entire organization.
  • Provide strategic guidance and execution support for initiatives aimed at enhancing platform capabilities or addressing key challenges.
  • Help keep the Monetization leadership team connected with other internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment on goals and priorities
  • Identify where processes can be improved, and take the initiative to improve them, end-to-end.
  • Evaluate and help prioritize growth opportunities, including new products, features and segments, with clear structure and analytical rigor.
  • Represent Monetization in cross-functional projects and discussions, advocating for support and resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to manage budgets, optimize spending, and identify opportunities for efficiency and/or investment.
  • Understand, interface and work closely with recruiting and people orgs to evaluate and nurture healthy, cooperative engineering teams.
  • Use your strong written and verbal communication skills to help develop communications adapted to widely varied stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years of related work experience, particularly in Program Management, Product management, Finance, Business planning or Operations roles.
  • Passion for execution and getting things done
  • Demonstration of good judgment and ability to influence without authority across functions in complex organizations.
  • Strong analytical abilities, to develop data-driven proposals, create and/or monitor metrics, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills and comfort in communicating nuanced, and often technical, concepts to internal stakeholders or external partners
  • Ability to influence teams & drive alignment among multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and driving efficient processes at scale

Relocation Statement:

  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
