Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced finance professional to join Marsh in a key leadership role for Marsh Risk New Zealand. This role will be based in Auckland and is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. This senior leadership role will be accountable for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) of our Marsh Risk New Zealand business in the Pacific region.
Reporting to the Finance Director, Marsh Risk Pacific, you will work very closely with business leaders and the wider Marsh Risk Pacific Finance team. The successful candidate will be action orientated, display exceptional stakeholder management skills and be delivery and outcome focused. You will display a range of techniques to both direct and influence stakeholders, operate as both a clear and concise leader and an excellent team player.
We will count on you to:
- Support Business Leaders in Marsh Risk New Zealand, and take responsibility for the management of the local P&L.
- Report, analyze and explain the Marsh Risk New Zealand financial performance.
- Ensure the business receives robust KPIs to run the business, including coordinating the collection of all performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
- Partner with Marsh Risk Pacific FP&A to ensure performance is well understood.
- Lead the budget and forecast process for Marsh Risk New Zealand, understanding opportunities and threats, and building credible plans to deliver profitable growth in line with targets.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and support M&A activity.
- Partner with Controllership and Operations to improve key processes to make the finance ecosystem, as well as the business environment, easier to navigate.
- Be proactive and creative in improving processes, driving efficiencies, and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
What you need to have:
- Minimum of 10 years of Finance experience in a global, highly matrixed organization.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of operating models in insurance and/or insurance broking.
- A high degree of intellectual curiosity and the ability to engage with other leaders in addressing complex business issues.
- Strong analytical skills, forecasting and budgeting experience.
- A bias to action orientation with a focus on delivery and outcome.
- Ability to comfortably and effectively deal with ambiguity and be able to act and move forward in the face of the unknown.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, managing multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related degree; qualified or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Experience with Oracle / Smartview preferred.
