As a Technical Project Manager, you will be key in overseeing software deliveries of the Melbourne Design Centre products and solutions.
Overseeing the delivery and maintenance of PSCore mobile solutions throughout the Software Development, Deployment, and Support Lifecycle
Proactive schedule management for software delivery, leveraging best practices and tools to track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely completion
Proactive management of delivery dependencies across MDC teams, stakeholders, and customers, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery through data analysis, collaboration, and risk mitigation.
Proactive planning and management of delivery resources, including access, security, equipment, tools, and engineering allocation, to ensure timely and efficient delivery
Proactive budget management for delivery operations, ensuring cost alignment with planned budgets and timely revenue forecasting and recognition through collaboration with stakeholders
Maintain professional delivery standards through robust quality processes and continuous improvement, driven by proactive and reactive analysis of built-in quality and QA certifications
Support pre-sales with bid and tender preparation, including forecasting effort, cost, and pricing for deployments
Responsible for the planning and management of change requests, including the coordination of requirements gathering and effort estimation
Provide timely resolution to critical production issues affecting end-users, requiring collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders, and customers and occasional after-hours work.
Demonstrate a customer-first approach and mindset, consistently considering the customer's perspective and potential impact on all decisions, tasks, and release management activities.
Support the Scrum Team's daily tasks, aligning with Agile Scrum and Waterfall methodologies based on alignment with customer ways of work.
Improving and standardizing software delivery management across customer engagements through proactive leadership
Gaining an understanding of and documenting the customer’s requirements and business processes
Providing advice, support, recommendations, and technology-based solutions based on Motorola product(s) to address the customer’s business needs
Identifying issues, risks, and benefits of proposed solutions and outlining business impact
Providing support to the scrum team during the implementation phase to deliver a solution that aligns with the customer’s requirements and agreed schedule, while adhering to established workflows and practices
Leadership and Planning Skills: In most cases, the Technical Project Managers are amongst the primary leaders in the delivery and must exhibit strong leadership, coordination, and planning skills for the team to meet their goals and objectives
Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis with the ability to effectively assess delivery and performance metrics to make informed decisions
Strong Communication Skills: Capable of effectively communicating with a wide range of internal and external technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to negotiate successful outcomes
Problem-Solving Skills: Each stage of planning and executing a delivery, implementation, or change typically involves problem-solving. Exceptional Technical Project Managers are creative thinkers with strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to collaborate with others in finding solutions
Drive and Self-Motivation: Technical Project Managers are responsible for inspiring and motivating a diverse, large team. By staying focused and on-task, they set an example and encourage the same behavior in their team members
Attitude: The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse resources and seek opportunities to continuously enhance the effectiveness of our MDC team
A Bachelor's degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or relevant work experience
Proven experience in delivery management in a technical environment (3 - 5 years) and a strong understanding of software development methodologies and practices (3 - 5 years)
Proven experience working in Waterfall and Agile methodology, practices, and ways of work (certification is a plus)
Demonstrable achievement in product implementation and/or delivery
Working knowledge/skill and experience in software delivery estimation techniques through Agile Scrum & traditional waterfall
Experience using various modern software development and delivery management tools for software release planning, team management, and collaboration (eg: JIRA, Confluence)
Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Strong customer engagement skills and team collaboration skills
Software technical knowledge to be able to provide advice, support, and recommendations on Motorola technology-based solutions to address the customer’s business needs
Successful applicants will be required to pass a police security clearance
Ability to travel when required
