Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Interested in changing the landscape of artificial intelligence workloads? Come join the team prototyping very high-performance memory systems for AI! In the Systems Pathfinding organization at Micron, we drive concepts across the stack, from applications to architectures and from concept to product. This is your opportunity to make a difference in the future of computing!

As a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff or Fellow in AI-optimized Memory Platform Architecture, you’ll lead the definition of platform architectures and the development of system prototypes for groundbreaking, tightly-coupled memory systems tailored for AI workloads. Joining our expanding team of domain experts across platforms, systems architecture, component design, and advanced packaging, you’ll analyze platform architecture trade-offs in close collaboration with design and packaging teams. Your responsibilities will encompass designing memory system interfaces, crafting prototype architectures, and seamlessly integrating SoCs, FPGAs, and systems software. Additionally, you’ll play a pivotal role in setting up, demonstrating, and evaluating heterogeneous systems. We actively promote collaboration with technical partners across various domains as we strive to develop world-class memory systems.

Our expectations

  • Lead platform architecture and systems prototype development.
  • Define SoC architectures with a focus on integration of novel memory systems.
  • Define prototype platform architectures, including IO, power delivery, and thermals.
  • Define interfaces and protocols, especially memory systems interconnects.
  • Lead development of a prototype platform for technology demonstration.
  • Lead a small, highly technical team, and influence a broad team of collaborators.

What we're looking for

  • Experience leading platform architecture analysis, definition, and development for sophisticated systems.
  • Experience building prototype SoCs and platforms, especially memory devices and FPGAs.
  • Experience with 2.5D and 3D interconnects, including PCIe, UCIe, and HBM interconnects.
  • Experience with power delivery and thermal architectures and analysis.

What sets candidates apart

  • Experience with ML/AI accelerators (e.g., GPUs, TPUs, etc.).
  • Experience with high-performance, stacked memory devices, like HBM.
  • Experience with defect analysis and systems yield optimization mechanisms.
  • Experience with advanced packaging techniques.
  • A Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
