Store Manager

Overview

The Store Manager is responsible for leading all store operations to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service goals. This role oversees staffing, merchandising, inventory control, and compliance while developing a high-performing store team in alignment with company policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance

  • Lead day-to-day store operations to achieve sales, expense, and operational targets

  • Execute company merchandising, promotional, and operational programs

  • Ensure proper inventory management, freight processing, and shrink control

  • Maintain store standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety

Leadership & Talent Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop store associates

  • Create and manage schedules to meet business needs and payroll objectives

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed

  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment

Customer Experience

  • Deliver a consistent, positive customer experience

  • Address customer issues promptly and professionally

  • Ensure compliance with customer service standards

Financial & Asset Protection

  • Drive sales through effective execution and associate engagement

  • Control operating expenses and protect company assets

  • Enforce cash handling, loss prevention, and security procedures

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational audits, and procedures

  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local employment and safety regulations

  • Maintain a safe working and shopping environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 2 years retail management experience; discount retail preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic proficiency with computers, POS systems, and inventory processes

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
