- Create interface designs for ongoing platform changes by translating business requirements and user stories into detailed screen layouts, visual specifications, and implementation-ready assets, in order to support efficient delivery of business-as-usual enhancements across client app.
- Refine visual and interaction details for incremental enhancements by updating layouts, hierarchy, states, and usability cues across existing journeys, in order to improve clarity, consistency, and day-to-day usability for clients.
- Support development and validation activities by clarifying design intent, answering implementation questions, and reviewing delivered outputs against approved designs, in order to reduce rework and strengthen delivery quality.
- Prepare clear handoff materials by documenting user flows, screen states, design notes, and supporting assets, in order to enable smoother collaboration between design, business, and technology teams.
- Adapt designs for business-as-usual servicing and communication needs by supporting smaller platform requests and related client-facing updates, in order to keep the platform responsive to evolving business and client needs.
- Follow up on post-implementation design issues by reviewing stakeholder feedback, testing observations, and live design gaps, in order to support continuous improvement and maintain design quality after release.
Specialized Knowledge
- Expert-level hands-on UI/UX design experience across mobile apps and responsive web, delivering from discovery to final UI specification.
- Strong command of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design, with high attention to detail and consistency.
- Proven capability to guide and uplift other designers’ work through critiques, reviews, and quality guardrails (journeys, wireframes, prototypes, UI).
- Strong working knowledge of design systems and governance; practical experience applying design system (or equivalent) and contributing component requirements back to system teams.
- Solid foundation in user research & usability testing, including planning, moderation, synthesis, and translating findings into design changes.
- Practical accessibility expertise: designing for WCAG compliance and platform accessibility settings (e.g., dynamic text size), plus cross-device ergonomics (e.g., touch target sizing).
- Proficiency with tools such as Figma (preferred), plus other design/prototyping tools (Sketch, InVision, Adobe suite).
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum with defined “Definition of Done”, sprint demos, and stakeholder sign-offs where needed.
- Insurance/financial services domain knowledge is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Upward of 8 years of relevant professional experience driving creative strategy and execution for digital products.
- Diploma graduate or above in graphic design or related disciplines such as Industrial Design, Visual design, human-computer interaction (HCI).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking, interaction/UI craft, and ability to deliver within constraints and with measurable outcomes.
