As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will show knowledge of the theories and scientific principles of laboratory testing, technical procedures and problem solving. Working along with supervisors and consultants, you will determine test results through monitoring and verifying quality controls and standards. Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
Performing laboratory and proficiency testing at multiple complexity levels.
Performing data entry and documenting all corrective actions during and after testing.
Maintaining instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and cleanliness.
Assuming responsibility for good documentation practices and maintaining clear and legible records.
Identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.

The Medical Laboratory Technician position offers access to various classes and project teams to be involved with to build leadership skills. The Emergency Department also offers various levels of management to promote professional development.
