We are seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Finance Business Partner. He/She will be responsible for providing strategic financial insight that will drive business growth and profitability, while maintaining an healthy cash position. This role will act as the key link between finance function and various business units, ensuring that all financial data is aligned with the co strategic objectives
Responsibilities:
- Assist the regional finance leader(s) in the day-to-day management of local Finance and Accounting activities
- Responsible for the statutory general ledger, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting in accordance with local and international accounting standards. This includes the preparation and booking of non-standard or specific local journal entries outside the scope of the shared service center, reconciliation, and maintenance of applicable general ledger accounts.
- Coordinate statutory or taxation audits to verify accuracy and compliance
- Prepare high quality reports to regional stakeholders, including internal financial /management reports, metrics/benchmarking analysis, and relevant operating reports
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial information to be used for the filing of various local financial statements, Value Added Tax (VAT), and tax returns and other statistical/regulatory reports
- Initiate and undertake continuous improvement activities by deep diving into existing processes to with the aim of eliminating unnecessary steps or automating tasks where applicable to achieve higher efficiencies
- Manage large projects and/or processes that span across multiple cross-divisional, global teams across the company, with limited oversight from management
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities when applicable by engaging with local and regional stakeholders to understand key profit and cost drivers.
- Liaise with local subject matter experts in matters of taxation, legal, labor, to verify impact and ensure local compliance in adoption of Corporate policies, in close cooperation with the applicable regions’ Corporate departments
- Act as a member of local/regional management in all aspects; including stimulating a collaborative environment, driving for continuous improvements, ensuring open communication lines to other departments and regions, and communicating the company’s decisions, vision and strategy to the team
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide indirect coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team members, and internal/external partners
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in accounting and/or financial management
- Site Specific: Fluent in English and the primary language of the applicable region
- Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and/or international)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, and/or business management
- Certification as a CPA, Chartered Accountant, and/or equivalent
- Familiarity with the freight forwarding industry or logistics industry in applicable region(s)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs
- Very strong interpersonal skill is required to manage the work-stream across departments/GM office and to operate in a matrix organization
- Strong understanding and experience with accounting. Value Added Tax (VAT), corporate tax, treasury, and cash management
- Thorough understanding of appliable region(s) GAAP/IFRS with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Pragmatic, hands-on, flexible and adaptable to change, continuously driven to challenge and improve, self-starter
- Strong business acumen, including the ability to understand and apply key financial, operational, and strategic principles in decision-making
- Demonstrated tech-savviness and proficiency in computer skills, with extensive experience using ERP systems, and other software applications (ex: Oracle)
- Ability to motivate and encourage change, able to get positive results in a very large, dispersed organization
