What you'll do:

Western Alliance Bank is seeking a passionate, experienced, and results-driven manager to guide a team of Cyber Engineers. We want a creative, highly motivated leader who can take initiative, have good sense of urgency and is comfortable working in a fast paced, agile environment. In this role, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance and optimization of cyber defense tools. Most notably you will maintain Western Alliance Bank’s SIEM and SOAR platforms for the day-to-day use of our cyber defense teams. You will also be required to fulfill auditor inquiries that challenge best practices and procedures for maintaining security platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Security Engineers tasked with the optimization, and maintenance of SOAR and SIEM.
  • Manage the timely detection and mitigation of performance and availability degradation. Ensure the timely and accurate documentation of changes and optimizations.
  • Adapt to changing architectures, technologies, and requirements.
  • Draft and communicate technical milestones towards achieving broad sort and long term goals.
  • Cater to the needs of Cyber Security Analysts and ensure that Cyber Toolsets are operational and running efficiently, effectively, and accurately. Maintain and update regularly technical documentation, flows, and training materials. Represent the Security Monitoring Center Engineering team on Technical Review Boards, Architecture Standards Boards, Change Management, etc.
  • Respond timely and accurately to audit inquiries. Coordinate activities with other Technology departments to maintain optimization of toolsets. Track open internal and vendor tickets to ensure SLAs are met.

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Cybersecurity or Computer Science Program OR
  • 6+ years of total Information Technology experience including at least two of the following:
  • 3 years in information security risk and compliance management, security project management, security policy management, and other security practices
  • 3 years of specific experience identifying and responding to cyber security incidents and threats.
  • 3 years of experience using scripting techniques (C#, C++, Powershell, Python, Rest API, etc.) to automate tasks.
  • 3 years of experience in evaluating, installing, configuring, and maintaining at least 2 of the following security tools (IDS, IPS, SIEM, SOAR, DLP, Proxy, Firewall, Endpoint forensics, disk encryption, GRC, Vulnerability scanner, sandbox).
  • 3 years Experience with interpreting and analyzing packet captures via Wireshark or like.
  • RHCSA, RHCSE, CCNA, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, VMWare, or related technology training or certifications a plus.
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, GCIH, Security+ or related certifications a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
