LEARFIELD is home to four statewide radio networks that provide news, sports and feature programming to radio stations throughout the Midwest, including: Minnesota News Network, MissouriNet, Radio Iowa and Wisconsin Radio Network. It is also home to Brownfield, the oldest and largest agricultural radio network in the U.S. Our growing News & Ag team is seeking to hire an Affiliate Representative to our team. 

Position Summary: This full time Affiliate Representative role will serve as the liaison between our networks and local, affiliate radio stations.

This person can work remotely from any location in the state of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and/or Missouri. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:           

  • Responsible for the affiliation process for 8 – 12 radio networks, functioning as the liaison between the networks and local radio stations.
  • Some travel to affiliate locations for prospect recruitment and affiliate retention
  • Develop and maintain ongoing prospects across all networks.
  • Negotiate deal points for affiliate contracts including revenue, inventory, term, etc.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal relationships and communications with network affiliates.
  • Ensure affiliate compliance with network contract requirements.
  • Increase affiliate clearance of network products.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working in local and/or network radio business or closely related field.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to understand and sell a diverse lineup of programming products including news, agriculture, sports, and lifestyle.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, able to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact proactively with staff and management across all levels and departments.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Proven ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as necessary.

 


Pay Transparency:

The approximate base pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience as well as geographic location.
