What You Will Do:

We are looking for someone with passion who is interested in developing their expertise and industry relationships. They will have a passion for creative problem-solving, client service, and project management.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Contributing to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients
  • Providing detailed fact findings, research, and analysis on energy-related activities (particularly climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability)
  • Understanding public and private sources of downscaled climate data and the ability to download the data, isolate it to client assets using methods such as nearest neighbor analysis.
  • Performing statistical and economic analyses in Excel, R, Python
  • Preparing workshop and meeting materials, attending sessions, and summarizing outcomes
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverables
  • Presenting results of assigned tasks and analyses that resonate with client
  • Working effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team; work independently as needed


What You Will Need:

  • Due to nature of client engagements must be either a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant industry or consulting experience excluding internships/co-ops/graduate research/fellowships; Or Advanced (Master’s/MBA/PhD) degree and 1-3 years of relevant industry or consulting experience internships/co-ops/graduate research/fellowships
  • Relevant work experience should be related to climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability or similarly related
  • Demonstrated team player with ability to lead
  • Client service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations in PowerPoint
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with data analytics
  • Strong interest in business strategy, energy efficiency, and sustainability
  • An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement
  • Tireless attention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional)
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.
  • Highly developed organizational and management skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work onsite in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Preference will be given to candidates within reasonable driving distance of the listed Guidehouse Offices
  • Relevant energy industry, utility, and/or consulting experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in climate and weather models and datasets
  • Knowledge of geospatial visualization tools such as arcGIS
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Contribute to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients.
  • Provide detailed fact findings, research, and analysis on energy-related activities (particularly energy efficiency, grid modernization, renewable energy, customer programs, new business models, and sustainability)
  • Experience creating models within Excel and/or experience with R or other programming languages (e.g., Python)
  • Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data
  • A history of successful, creative problem-solving
  • Excitement to explore the underlying cause of the observation/result

The annual salary range for this position is $94,900.00-$142,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
